What is ProQuest's Dissertation Express?
Dissertation Express is a service offered at no charge through the ILL office. It gives
patrons the option of buying unbound, shrink-wrapped copies of dissertations or thesis at
$38.00 each, instead of borrowing them through ILL. In most cases, the dissertations
are delivered to the library for pickup within two to three business days of ordering. To
request a dissertation for loan or purchase, click the Request a Dissertation button on the
Main Menu of ILLiad. Once it has been determined the requested dissertation is available for purchase, you
will be contacted to submit a check for $38.00 made payable to: ProQuest. Once the check has been
received in ILL, the order will be placed. If the dissertation is unavailable for purchase, we will cancel
the request and ask if you would like ILL to obtain it as a loan for you. You will need to resubmit the request
by clicking the View/Resubmit Cancelled Requests button and enter a note that a loan is acceptable.
