The eXpress Tax system can be used to manage your personal property tax records with Prince William County. To use eXpress tax, you must enter your social security number, name and address or account number. This information is used to search our records and to verify your identity.
eXpress Tax uses SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption when transmitting information. SSL encrypts all information that you input before it is sent to Prince William County. Secure data such as your social security number and vehicle information are scrambled in the encryption process. An icon resembling a padlock is displayed on the bottom of most browsers window during SSL transactions (If you're using Netscape Navigator, the symbol is a key).
Another way you can tell if your browser is in secure mode is by looking at the web site address that your browser displays. The address will begin "https://" in secure mode. You can also click on the VeriSign icon to verify that our SSL certificate is valid.
The information you provide will be stored securely on our servers. No customer information is stored on our Internet servers. Records are stored in separate databases not directly connected to the Internet.
